BOOK This is a nice quality hardback book with full-page color illustrations all the way through. is not the most polished write-up of the stories, is only a few sentences each page and often disjointed.
DVDs VISUAL The DVDs are not based on the book. look like a totally separate production. They are based on simple 2-D animation software and are somewhat amateur in quality. The Devil and his numerous accomplices for instance look like beings that popped out of a toaster oven and not out of hell per se. the landscapes and backdrops are all very sparse and most of the screen time is occupied by characters speaking dialogue.
DVDs SOUND The best part is the soundtrack, which moves along slowly and earnestly, is easy for smaller children to follow and amusing for adults as clearly a couple of voice-over artists try to make up the voices of all the several characters in each story.
Overall an acceptable work for the easy-to-please muslim child, but too amateur for the hollywood-disney-raised super-brat aspiring hafiz al-quran and/or grand mufti. |
